Advanced user of XelloXello encourages students to introspectively consider their strengths, challenges, and future plans. Students who take the time to use the program to its full potential can ultimately plan for college or career readiness as they embark on their high school journeys. Xello provides students with up-to-date information on colleges and universities and allows students to save preferred careers and pathways which they can revisit as they grow and mature.
Some aspects of Xello are difficult for students to navigate. Without a teacher guiding them which pieces to complete in succession, they get "stuck" trying to figure out what to do or how to manage it. Specifically, students who struggle with reading frequently get caught up not knowing what a question in asking.
Provide teachers with tutorials prior to expecting them to lead in-class exercises on Xello. It is user-friendly, but there is a learning curve until you are familiar.
Xello allows students to consider and reconsider future plans. They can take several personality/education quizzes to determine best-fit jobs or get an idea of the type of post-secondary school they would like to attend.
