What do you like best?
It is a complete solution for manufacturing from start to finish. From purchasing to sale, the various modules are fully integrated for seamless processing and movement of our raw material, wip, and finished products that mirrors how we actually manufacture out on the plant floor. SysPro handles serial #'s and lot #'s like a pro, providing the historical tracking we need. The accounting modules are just as integrated with each other and the manufacturing related modules, making it a fully robust financial software too.
What do you dislike?
The products we manufacture have seasonality to them and require being manufactured weeks to months in advance of their respective "selling season" in order to meet the demand. Currently, SysPro's MRP modules and production scheduling modules do not handle this scenario well at all. We make use of certain functions within MRP but cannot fully implement it and rely on it as we would like.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Recently we just activated the Quotations module in SysPro, allowing us to move the customer quote generations from Excel templates. This has allowed us to streamline the whole quote to sales order cycle. It eliminated a completely manual intensive set of tasks and took it to almost a complete click-n-choose process where the quote is generated in just a few minutes, not several, and creation of a sales order takes just a couple clicks. We can now crank out more quotes per day with the same staff, especially in peek selling times.
