I use Oracle Expense Management to run analysis reports on the expenses.

What do you like best?

The availability is nice to have, instead of getting things at several different sources. The fact that we can enter expenses, invoices, payments, journal entries, along with set up new general ledger accounts and run reports, allows for flexibility to do more analysis and high level thinking for our jobs, instead a lot of manual entry in different systems. Along with that, the smartview and essbase feature we use in our excel files are very helpful in preparing financials and board reports, along with reports for external users and for filing with the SEC.

What do you dislike?

There are some glitches I run into when running reports in Oracle, in that it doesn't let me utilize all the filters I need. For instance, I try running the trial balance, but one of the filters I need to select in order to run the report is grayed out. This results in me having to ask someone else to run the report, even though I need it to do my job and tasks. Another thing I dislike is that the survey that is sent to get an Amazon gift card is rigged so that you can never get your $10 gift card. I've typed a lot in each answer, and yet, the progress bar isn't "progressing" any closer to the $10 status. So it is unattainable I suppose and is just an optical illusion to make you think you can get it for taking precious time to fill out the survey.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

It is fairly straightforward to use, and once you learn how to do it once, you typically understand every feature going forward. There are also improvements/upgrades that are always being considered by the company. Those are hard to work around when implementing at first, but it pays off in the end since the system is better as a whole. I'm not sure how each individual aspect of the Oracle Expense Management Cloud works, since we use so many features, but if you use a lot of the aspects we use as a complete package, then Oracle is a great system and Cloud.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It has smoothed over our recording process and how we enter data. With each new added feature and upgrade, it helps our company run more efficiently overall. There's always room for growth in every company and product, but the Cloud is a good start. Some problems we're solving by using the Oracle Expense Management Cloud is unnecessary excel manual entry, like double or triple manual entry, since all of what we need is in one system. Even our reporting and work in excel is done using Oracle, so we don't need a separate system for that either.
