Review of KPISoft solution
What do you like best?
The KPISoft solution is a useful tool to integrate an organization's strategic directions with the associated operational KPIs to achieve a holistic enterprise performance management system.
It is able to associate related KPIs throughout the various hierarchy levels of an organization and adopts the 360 competency assessment.
The personal dashboards of a supervisor and respective subordinates encourages higher team interactivity/collaboration during reporting and monitoring of departmental KPI performance.
What do you dislike?
Although the update of information is fairly easy to use, there is room to improve on some screen designs/interfaces. Some examples are a more wider/longer space allocated for keying in long comments, to be able to view data keyed in without scrolling (left or right) and without having to "mouse over".
When keying information for the mid-term review, the absence of a "save" function requires the user to complete all the information in one session, and not able to pause and return to continue the data entry at a later stage.
A first attempt to locate previous information takes a while after navigating around the screens. An example is locating for the mid-term review results when updating the results for the final year review.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
The structure of the KPIs as required by the solution (e.g. target, reporting period, etc.) inculcates a discipline to define goals more objectively and measurable. Coupled with the ability to associate dependent KPIs down the hierarchy levels of the department, it also inculcates a discipline in supervisor to "design KPIs" so to foster better teamwork and achieve a more visible accountability of individuals in their contribution to achieve the departmental goals.
