Advanced user of Case LogistixWhile Case Logistix is not as robust as some larger and more expensive kCura products, it is user-friendly and easy to pick up without formal training (from a back-end administrative perspective), while being extremely user-friendly for any reviewer to navigate and pick up.
It has less modules to push data and productions to and from than other popular eDiscovery litigation products on the market in similar price points, and also has flexibility in production file format resolution and size – which is a MUST for users who have large dimension documents (such as maps or blueprints) that need to be produced.
Although the product is easy to use, it still has flexibility and allows users with administrative access the ability to modify and correct things on the back end… a MUST with systems that correlate data and can freeze in production or upload. This allows users to correct errors or issues, rather than relying on non-descript data and simply waiting to see if something ‘goes through'.
It is less expensive than some of the more robust comprehensive products out there. Ability to set up larger numbers of customized fields give it an edge over some of the lower priced popular products on the market.
The version I used did not populate additional fields with bates stamps during production, which is also standard for comparatively priced solutions. There was a way to re-import this data fortunately, however, it was not something that an average user would find easy. Auto-production of bates numbers in additional fields would have been an invaluable feature, however, I believe may have been added in some of the newer versions as my understanding is the options were being contemplated for future versions.
Although the product has fewer modules than other popular products competitively priced, multiple modules could cause confusion with users unfamiliar with eDiscovery software solutions. The online (hosted) versions are subject to delays dependant on internet traffic, which unfortunately are out of their control to modify. That said, I would expect that from any online hosted solution.
There are other solutions out there I am more excited about - however, this is the best solution for eDiscovery I've had the privilege to use within it's comparatively affordable price range.
If you are considering upgrading from a simpler product, even if slightly less expensive, I would seriously consider it.
Case Logistix was a good tool to quickly create setups for mid-size project attorney eDiscovery review, without having to struggle with permissions and specialized batches. It also provided a great stop-gap for emergency data conversion, for individuals who required data in specific (Concordance) formats, in particular in converting large productions from standard Summation formats to other standard options.
