There is a lot of thought and great support behind this application.

What do you like best?

Visier put a lot of thought into their application. There is a lot of research behind their visuals and the importance of what their reporting shows, they are always looking for ways to improve it and are open to feedback. The reporting and navigating interface is clean and they do a great job in leading the user towards understanding what they are looking at and what things impact the results that they are seeing. They supply some great canned reporting, but also give you the means to create your own, and make your own guidebooks in addition to what is already there to lead your users in the way that you think is important.

There is a lot of flexibility on how you may also want to administer the application. You can define rules based on the users' data as to who can see what data, and whether it is in an aggregated or detailed form.

They hold your hand during the onboarding process to get your data into Visier, they are patent and accessible to give you help and to answer questions. You can send the data in, have them load it, and can validate that this was done correctly in the application before it is published for general consumption. You can have multiple projects or tests going on at the same time so you can get different pieces ready separately collaborate with different people and then publish them when they are ready.

Once your data is there and the visuals are in place, you now have a curated and vetted source of truth for your day-to-day reporting. Great for data governance and reducing the problems caused by misusing or incorrectly interpreting the data you have.

What do you dislike?

Visier is not perfect, but they are constantly working towards improving their offering. The way they allow you to manage security in the application is powerful and versatile, but not the most intuitive. There are great resources available to help, tools you can use to check your work, and they are helpful when you ask questions, but again not the most intuitive.

I would like more guidance and offer of suggestions during the onboarding process. We were given options and paths to implement our data and we picked what we thought would be best. There was a point in the onboarding process after months of struggling to get one set of our data correct, we finally decided that what we were doing was not working and we needed to try the other option, only then to find out that many of their clients have also struggled with the method we chose and what we moved to proved to be much better. And it did for us too, but it would have been nice to have that feedback earlier.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We needed a reliable accurate self-service wholistic view of our HR data from the candidate application through the lifecycle of that person once hired and their movement through the organization. Visier supplied this for us. Visier also gave us the benefit of better control over what people see or who can see what data. It also has the benefit of replacing some of our day-to-day reporting so that once we got the data correct, the sending of the data automated, and the application configured correctly then we did not have to manage the reporting platform making sure it performed correctly and was always available. There is some ongoing maintenance, but not to the degree as other reporting platforms.
