Solid Process Automation, Simple UI, Easy to go 0 to Live
What do you like best?
Creating custom data sources with custom-defined actions allows for rapid use by teams while maintaining governance. Human-in-the-loop automation is a crucial feature for us in the regulated industry in which we participate. Tonkean's focus on this as such a foundational part of their identity is excellent. The time to market has also enabled faster delivery of new products/services to market which under COVID has been tremendous. The real power here, I think, is the clear enablement of citizen developed automations.
What do you dislike?
There are some rough edges on enterprise-scale capabilities which have been getting smoother over time but still aren't quite there yet. Custom integrations having a systemic issue outside Tonkean remain an issue at scale. Ten thousand failures in rapid sequence would be a significant effort even today. These limitations have not caused us to look elsewhere.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're looking to enable business teams to automate their work, build a practice around citizen-developed automation, drive adoption quickly while also governing use, and also keep humans in the loop, then Tonkean is the tool I would recommend.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
IT and business process automation is the primary focus of our current Tonkean solutions. We continue to bring new solutions to market, which power our company's ability to serve customers of various types. From simple automation monitoring mailboxes and auto-responding based on context to complex automation involving multiple modules to solve workforce lifecycle management, we see Tonkean as central to our journey.
With Tonkean we've seen rapid delivery of new marketable capabilities, alongside some headcount elimination or prevention as well as reduction on turnaround times for various internal processes.
