Highly optimized tool for data processing, predictive analysis and even data storage
What do you like best?
Timi can run on Linux and Windows, enabling us to develop on our windows laptop, and then run seamlessly in production on Linux. The data processing algorithms are optimized, use little RAM, and compress data effectively (we have over 300TB of compressed storage).
What do you dislike?
For intensive production use (we are running on 72 Cores server), the IO can be high. You have to use different types of disk to optimize IO. Data can be stored in RAID5 SAS disks, but to get the best, your temp directory should run on SSD to benefit the most of Timi's algorithms.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Very easy to use. Use it both for ad-hoc analysis on a laptop and in a production environment on a cluster of servers. It covers all aspects from data manipulation to predictive analysis.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
We used TIMI to replace our Oracle processes and data storage. We improved performance AND storage capacity by 200%. We were also able to have heavily partitioned tables, which Oracle could not manage anymore.
We now also use TIMI to perform segmentations and predictive analysis, and once validated, integrate them into our production processes.
