Helped us transition from a VPN to Cloud based estimating tool.
What do you like best?
Our team will no longer need to hard wire and VPN in order to process quotes and estimates - this is huge. The interface will save our project management team an enormous amount of time as we can make changes quickly and efficiently. I also anticipate a reduction in (human) errors as we are drastically reducing the quantity of manual entries required. The platform is also helping us transition from an email driven approval flow to something more system based - this will not only help alleviate our email burden but allow for better document management.
What do you dislike?
We have a complex business and some of the sync issues with our other systems have taken some time to resolve. We deal with a wide variety of local tax laws that are difficult to capture within the constraints of the platform - we have captured about 90% but there are still holes that I'm not sure we will be able to resolve. The approval and alert system we have in place also has room for improvement, which will be worked and I'm fairly confident we will get where we need to be. Although I am not the administrator, it seems like our improvement and bugs can take a long time to deploy. We have been in soft-launch mode for 9 months.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The platform may take longer to launch than anticipated.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
servicePath CPQ has allowed us to transition to a more user friendly and time saving platform than what we previously used. We no longer need to VPN to make minor corrections and adjustments to our quotes. There are many benefits, but there is a pretty heavy learning curve for our company - the convert to order process for our specific business has created a lot of confusion during our soft launch, and is still being heavily reviewed and worked on.
