Deceptive business practices
What do you like best?
They have a very agressive and large sales team
What do you dislike?
Had a call with a salesperson at Recurly named John Gonzales. It seemed pricey but they gave us a no-risk option to try it out and only pay for transactions as they happen. However onboarding was so complicated and convoluted that we were never onboarded and never used the service.
9 months later we get a notice from a collection agency claiming we owe them $7,000. They apparently had been billing us some random monthly amount the entire time.
They hired a law firm to threaten us and try to intimidate us into paying this amount, even though the account managers we spoke to at Recurly admitted they had no idea why we were being charged for an account that was never used or even onboarded.
The law firm they used is extremely aggressive and threatening. Obviously we know we don't owe them anything but the whole experience has been stressful and very inconvenient. Looks like we may actually have to spend on litigation to fight them on a charge that they just made up completely! Deceptive and dirty business practices I would stay as far away from them as possible if I were you.
