Internal App Testing Heaven

What do you like best?

Pushing updates to testers! Once you are setup and your testers have the app installed, its simply.

# git push ionic master

and you are done. Everyone is informed about the update and they can go.

Being able to have beta channel which we can control via roles added internally to our app users.

This makes beta testing super easy and controlled.

What do you dislike?

Not being able to describe the update easily and inform the testers what is in the release.

Not having the package.json version automatically shown in the Ionic View app so that testers know which version you testing.

The only way to do that is to use npm version patch so that it uses the version and the commit message.

Cannot host the mobi version of the app yet. (It's a hybrid approach after all)

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Start the process and run through lots of testing and deploying. It's as simple as that.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Faster iterative testing with small things and remote testers.

In 2nd phase the customer gets involved and we reduce the number of Testflight ad Google Beta deploys dramatically.

By the time we hit the app store, 98% of the real app issues are dealt with and then we only have to smooth out things like notifications etc.
