Hucu is keeping us organized!

What do you like best?

The ability to add channels in Hucu allows us to keep communication about multiple patients in multiple locations organized and directed only to the appropriate staff. The ability to take photos within the app facilitates the distribution of Protected Information quickly to the correct department and the flags allow our providers to see at a glance which patients are on the 'hot' list to be seen as a priority when they enter a facility. The Honors points system has encouraged a very competitive environment for our staff to utilize this communication!

What do you dislike?

We have had resistance from new users until they see the benefits of Hucu. It is easy to get carried away creating channels for very specific purposes within the company so the list became very long. We have narrowed it down to more general fields with regard to office tasks to shorten the list.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Train twice - once when starting and then once a week or two after using it or you will not remember all that you can do. Do not allow staff to add channels so that you can maintain control of the volume for maximum efficiency.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We have a large patient load at multiple locations. Hucu allows us to notify all providers and appropriate staff immediately of admissions, discharges, change of condition, etc. in a HIPAA compliant manner. We communicate patient needs and updates in real-time to all. Providers are able to easily send pictures of face sheets immediately to the office so there is no delay entry into our EMR or billing,
