G*Power is a tool to compute statistical power analyses for many different t tests, F tests, П‡2 tests, z tests and some exact tests. G*Power can also be used to compute effect sizes and to display graphically the results of power analyses.

There is no way to check for updates within the app.
G Power helps me determine how many subjects I need to recruit and collect data for in my research projects. Very helpful for ethics review boards when they review my application and also helpful for inclusion in the manuscript.
