Great software - if you have a dedicated employee who is both visual and techie
What do you like best?
What FWI does, in theory, is great. Quickly and easily communicate with employees across one office (or many) - sounds great!
The software, again - in theory, was easy to use even for someone who didn't know the program.
The FWI Cloud manager/portal was going to be a game changer, though.
What do you dislike?
In reality, the desktop software was clunky and dated. It only worked on PCs while my entire creative team was on Macs. Luckily, I think they were in the process of phasing out the desktop software and replacing it with the cloud solution, back when I used it in 2018-2019.
It took 20+ hours (best guess, maybe more) to get up to speed on the software enough to even use it in a basic sense.
We had almost constant technical issues which were sometimes hardware or software related and sometimes "user error" because we never received all the training hours the company paid for.
Our account team changed so often it was impossible to keep up with or build relationships.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Shop around and allow the employees you plan on making admins/users to play an active role in the evaluation process. It's really difficult to be an employee who is handed a software that doesn't do everything that was promised to executives in the sales process.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
We had an employee population who didn't want to read emails. FWI's digital signage helped us get messages out across the company by using the screens.
It helped with employee engagement and culture by allowing people to share pictures of their pets, kids, hobbies, and jobs. We all got to know each other a little bit better thanks to the FWI product.
