P2V Replication - A moderate Tool

What do you like best?

The ability to support Physical Workloads Full System-level Replication to virtualised platforms like VMware vSphere by configuring FSHA scenarios is a pretty nice feature.

Moreover, specific support for App / DB / File-level protection by configuring HA scenarios is also an added advantage.

What do you dislike?

Not All OSes are currently supported, specifically, challenges may come up with Linux Machines.

In FSHA scenarios, you need a consistent network to perform initial sync between the DC and DR Site, else things fail a lot of time and the operation starts from scratch every time.

It's a bit expensive software as well.

Lack of support for VMW vCloud Director Platform.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

If you want to address P2P, P2V, V2V and V2P replication scenarios, all via a single solution, then Arcserve Continuous Availability is the best.

Also, that's one of the most known tools to support P2V seamless replication scenarios.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Delivering DRaaS solution for Bare-metal servers to VMware Private Cloud.

It solves the P2V replication challenges with RTO and RPO up to an hour, that's an advantage above other tools.
