JobBOSS Shop Management Solutions, is an enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution built for small and midsize manufacturers in North America. It allows key office and production staff to manage job information day-to-day to aid customer service and deliveries. Key features include quoting, order processing, advanced scheduling, inventory, payroll, accounting, quality (ISO and ASI), data collection and mobility.
All data is located in a single database, giving networked users simultaneous access to the collective information. This allows decision-makers to be informed and aware of what is happening on the shop floor and in the office.
This solution places a strong emphasis on costing, productivity and scheduling. It is suitable for custom, make-to-order, and mixed-mode shops and handles everyday situations based on the manufacturing flow in these types of facilities.

Has the potential to be something GREAT!
What do you like best?
For manufacturing, it is excellent, BUT you must do the heavy lifting from the start. Take the time to enter accurate data - from material to finished product and everything inbetween! It is relatively easy to navigate.
What do you dislike?
The system generates and assigns so many different numbers - From Quote# to Sales Order# to Packing List# to Invoice#. It would be nice if the system created one number per "order" and used that same number throughout the process - designating the different stages throughout the order process with dashes or letters.
Vendors and Customer ID# should be auto-generated numbers. If not, then give admins the ability to change them at any time.
Many manufacturers (like ourselves) are selling directly to the end-user (customer). The need for this software to handle the manufacturing side and the retail side would be helpful. Another feature we need would be to have JobBoss seamlessly integrate with an e-commerce platform.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Job Costing has been a critical factor in our ability to find where we lack productivity and fall short in estimating time/material. This software allows for easy employee clock in/out - whether for tracking payroll hours or time on jobs. We have solved the long lines at the time clock at lunchtime by allowing us to remove the lunch hour from all employees' time automatically.
