Advanced user of SlackI like that you can get a hold of team members easily and quickly on slack without having a conversation get buried in your email. I also like that it's easy to see when your coworkers are active, away or on vacation. It makes communication a lot more laid-back compared ot traditional emails. I also like that if I don't see a slack communication right away, that I will get an email notification to remind me. I think that the channels function is very useful. It's a great way to quickly and easily access information for a specific group or topic. I also like how easy it is to tag coworkers into a conversation.
I think the search function could be more specific. Additionally, adding GIFs in conversations is confusing, and I would like to see that become easier, like adding emojis is. Every time I want to add a GIF I have to look up how to do it, which is very frustrating. I think it would be helpful if I got notifications from my channels other than the channel name getting bolded. Some notification in the system like I get when someone direct messages me would be great.
It's helping me communicate faster with my teammates and get my work done more quickly because I can get answers faster. I also like that you can easily share documents and connect to your calendar to show your coworkers when you are unavailable. I like that you can also add members from outside your organization. This was very helpful when we held our virtual conference last year. Additionally, I think it's helpful how slack integrates other apps like OneDrive or Zoom.
