What do you like best?

- Records how you spend your time online - productive v unproductive

- Focus mode blocks unproductive sites - usually social media and the like

- Reporting shows how you really spent your time as opposed to how you thought you spent your time!

What do you dislike?

- Takes a while to sort out productive/unproductive sites - you have to classify those it doesn't do automatically. If you spend most of your time online, you visit a lot of sites.

- Some features might overlap with other task management/planning tools you use. You'll have to sort out how best works for you.

- If you work with social media - e.g. as a social media marketer, then you would class social media sites as 'productive' and you wouldn't be able to see how much time was spent on your own social media channels!

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Try it and see. Y-Productive won't work for everyone but it will for many. Partly accountability partner and partly just a good record keeper. If a lot of your activity is online it will make you more productive (if that's what you want!).

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

There are two real benefits using Y-Productive. One is that the 'focus' mode is good at bringing you back when you were heading down one of those internet rabbit holes through natural curiosity or FOMO. The second - and more important for me - is that it gives you an accurate record of the time you are spending on tasks. Most of us aren't very good at estimating how long things really take. Using Y-Productive, you can see how long that report or article or configuration change or whatever really took. When you are billing clients, this is really important. If you find you are regularly underestimating the time that certain tasks take, you are underbilling and undermining your rates. This isn't good for you or your client.

Used over a period, Y-Productive is a great tool to give you some real insight into how long you really spend researching an article, creating a presentation or sorting your inbox.

You can use Y-Productive to monitor all the time you spend on every task or project, but even a weekly review to see where your time really went gives you good insight into how you could spend more time on the things that really matter to your business.
