What do you like best?

With this application we can check the files that we download to our computer before users and so check if it is safe to run them on our computer, the operation of VirusTotal is very simple since we simply drag the file to the website and it will be sent to your analysis, the analysis time varies depending on the size of the file. After the analysis we can see the vulnerabilities, viruses or Trojans that the file contains.

Also recently it is possible to perform analyzes on websites, IP addresses or hash algorithms in the same way as if it were a file.

What do you dislike?

Despite working in most cases in a very successful (I have checked with infected files and has detected) may throw "false positives" in certain types of files such as .rar or executable files that have encrypted content.

I recommend using this application to any user regardless of whether you use your computer personally or professionally to check all files of dubious origin that you download. I use Virustotal both in my work and in my home to check all types of files or URLs before using them in my devices as a precaution and not to infect my computer and compromise the sensitive information I store. The application is helping me a lot because before I used it I was infected and lost a lot of time trying to recover and being forced to completely format my computer.
