The Stoplight Platform provides a suite of products that cover the entire pre-production API lifecycle. Increase the consistency, visibility, and quality of your internal and external APIs. Model, collaborate, and automate – don’t manually manage hundreds of lines of API spec using a text editor.

Use the OpenAPI specification with Stoplight to design consistent and standardized HTTP APIs for your organization. Without writing any code, model complex APIs faster than ever while simultaneously getting feedback on your prototypes with our instant mock servers.

Stoplight offers several documentation solutions to help you create engaging API documentation, not auto-generated lists of endpoints with no style. Quickly create compelling developer experiences for API consumers by pulling together multiple APIs into contextual experiences. Combine OpenAPI descriptions with Markdown to create robust, searchable, internal and external docs for your organization. One-click cloud deployment with Stoplight or download the static assets to host anywhere.

★★★★★
The best API design and documentation platform available

What do you like best?

Stoplight provides an excellent API design and documentation platform, unlike anything else available in the market.

It is useful to:

1. Developers because they can export the OpenAPI file and import it into their development environment. They are also able to access API mocking to test their implementation.

2. Business and Product teams to be able to access business/functional requirements (beyond just the technical API specifications).

Stoplight, by far is the most progressive and comprehensive technical design and documentation platform we have come across.

What do you dislike?

There are opportunities to improve certain user experience features, such as being able to drag and drop to reorder the menu of pages/APIs and, within particular models or methods, the order of fields.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Stoplight is highly effective at providing a design-first approach to software development - consider using Stoplight to ensure APIs and technical documentation are available to both technical and business personnel.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are utilising Stoplight to develop an industry-wide interoperability solution and have found Stoplight to be invaluable as a platform to enable collaborative technical design and centralised access to documentation - all presented in a user-friendly way.
