It would be better if it could integrate with our ERP system to access the instructions directly from there. The notifications don't time out if the notification is no longer relevant, but they aren't too intrusive.
If you are on any paper based system take the leap and give it a try - it has been a step change in ease of access for our works instructions, especially for me - knowing that I am looking at the right version, not a draft that someone has put on the server. Our operators have found it easy to use and aren't scared of using it.
Our recorded settings are now more comprehensively recorded and better controlled. Updates can be requested by the shop floor operators and supervisors when they see mistakes, fix issues. As we use the approvals on changes this means we see when there are changes to the documents.
