Advanced user of Spine Animation SoftwareSpine is easy to use, has a nice and flexible interface, is stable and fast (even on my laptop, that is not a super machine), has a great workflow between setup characters and animating them, and principally has a great and powerful Runtime for integrating with Unity, that give you many options and a superb workflow for making changes in the animations even after they are integrated in your game.
Spine is not cheap. The professional version is U$ 299,00 paid upfront, so you probably have many indie developers that cannot afford the tool. Even knowing that it delivers value for that cost, it would be great if Esoteric implemented flexible month to month plans so the cost could be divided in the long run for people that don't have the money for it upfront.
Spine is not cheap, but it's an one time fee and with no doubt is a great investment. This expense will rapidly worth for you in the better results that you will get with the same or less effort.
Spine is the better software for making animations that I've ever used. I've worked in Puppet2D (Unity Asset), Any Portrait (Unity Asset), Spriter and DragonBones. Without a doubt Spine is better than these tools, giving me more power to make my animations, with an easy to use and flexible interface and a great workflow for Unity game projects.
