Composer has enable me to create dynamic manuals for assemblies I have designed in SolidWorks
What do you like best?
The functionality of being able to create different pages for a manual and when the model is update in the assembly, it is then updated in the Composer Document. That saves time and effort.
What do you dislike?
It is not as user friendly as SolidWorks interface. However, not that difficult to get a handle on.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Ensure you have the time and energy to spend learning the software jargon, as it is not the same jargon used in SolidWorks itself. However, it is easy once you get a grip on the jargon and what tools are used where etc. If you are interested in making user manuals from you designs in SolidWorks. Composer is the way to go, as it integrates with your assemblies easily and you are able to design and create great manuals and flyers etc.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
We are able to benefit out of composer by using the dynamic features to create cut out sections and detailed exploded views to show critical aspects of our components and where they work in assemblies.
