SkyDNS is a distributed service for announcement and discovery of services built on top of etcd. It utilizes DNS queries to discover available services. This is done by leveraging SRV records in DNS, with special meaning given to subdomains, priorities and weights.

Advanced user of SkyDNSI really like DNS and hosting of thing but the setup of DNS server etc that I don`t like. apart from this, I would really recommend it.
basically, there is nothing to dislike but if I have said make the full documents to use and some videos tutorial to explain how to use it in the right way.
I really share and recommends to users and my friends to use it. if anything goes wrong then it should easily resolve by support teams. then just go for it if you like the internet of things.
like I said use of sky DNS is complicated but the benefit is that sky DNS is open source. there must be dedicated a support portal to help people to fix their problems.
