Complex but reliable

What do you like best?

Forms in Sharepoint feel like they are the base of what Microsoft has accomplished with Microsoft Forms. However, thanks to JSON coding, you can customize a whole lot more than what you can with Microsoft Forms (but also means you need to have an employee with experience using that type of coding and customization). Also, it allows for calculated fields to add additional intelligence to a form. Our organization uses Sharepoint lists quite a bit so using Sharepoint Forms feels like an extension of the knowledge we have acquired with this other tool.

What do you dislike?

Sharepoint forms require some additional knowledge and skill level to setup. Comparing it to Microsoft forms, these forms become represent higher end users to set them up. Some Sharepoint functions tend also to not be supported when upgrades are made, therefore the reliability falls more under independent and external applications. It tends to be easier to complete integration by using other tools, very much like our case where we depend on the branching options of forms, calculated fields on Sharepoint lists and automation with Power Automate and the creation of streaming datasets for Power BI

Recommendations to others considering the product:

SharePoint forms might be your best choice depending on the project of your choice. Setup isn't too complex but also not the most simple one.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Currently we are not utilizing these forms as we explored this option prior to going to Microsoft Forms. Main reason why we chose the other product really is based on ease of use for most employees.
