One product - multiple levels of use

What do you like best?

The basics are easy to learn, and a course can be created and published quickly. Updating course material is easy and can be tracked.

This system could be used at just a basic level and be a useful tool. But its ability to incorporate various types of training material, assign prerequisites, and included interactive knowledge checks makes it a powerful tool that can grow with the needs of the learning groups and the skills of the instructors and administrators.

Good support - knowledgeable, respectful, responsive. No question is too small or to complicated - they provide the info you need usually in a timely manner.

What do you dislike?

It is built on a SharePoint platform which brings with it some inherent limitations. Not better or worse than other LMS platforms just sometimes need to be aware and find a workaround. Nearly all of them were resolvable.

Once a course record is in the LMS it cannot be changed. It can only be removed by deleting the related course. It is a logical feature of the system as this is meant to be a system of record but coming from a system where details could be changed at any time some of our people were frustrated by this.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Highly recommend. I've worked in several LMS and they all have pros and cons but they don't all have the level of support that ShareKnwoledge provides.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Using the LMS we are able to provide and track training in one location. Our previous system was an open database where anyone could enter info which lead to incomplete, inaccurate, or duplicate records. The LMS allows us to have gatekeepers who can review information before it is approved to ensure documentation and dates are correct.

It also allows us to create content with interactive quizzes that are automatically scored and recorded saving us the time of manually reviewing the document and ensuring accuracy.
