Rossum is an AI-based cloud document gateway for automated business communication. Rossum solves four key steps in document-based processes at once: receiving documents across multiple channels, automated understanding, two-way communication to resolve exceptions, and acting on the data using in-depth integrations.
In typical real-world scenarios, Rossum’s proprietary AI engine outranks narrow data extraction solutions in accuracy. Meanwhile, Rossum’s platform automates the document-based communication process end-to-end. Rossum’s goal for every use case is at minimum a 90% document processing speed increase.

My experiences integrating Rossum into a construction company.
What do you like best?
The best thing about Rossum are the saved keystrokes. I mean, that's the whole point of this. From a developer perspective, Rossum's fairly open approach to allow for modification of the UI and how data is processed through Rossum was the true sell point. My company has very specific needs and the ability to scale the UI up or down on the fly is incredible, and easy.
What do you dislike?
I dislike Rossum's handling of large .pdf documents. I'm not sure what they need to do about it, but these documents will cause the UI to crash and take a long time to process. It would be best if Rossum would prioritize taking information off the first page and possibly second page of an invoice. Most of the time, following pages are just receipts or delivery tickets and no information should be extracted from them.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It will be quite the undertaking, but the hardest part is training users, not the setup of the product itself. Taking each and everyone's needs into account and shaping Rossum for your business can be challenging, but it is well worth it in the end.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
We had problems keeping the unnaproved invoice process down to one person. There would be time that the CFO would have to delegate invoices to other folks or we would have a part timer to help out. Rossum allowed the AP clerk who normally does invoice-entry to complete their work in a reasonable time. We've seen faster turnaround times on batches of invoices as well as normalization across data-entry.
Aside from this, we also used to manually file invoices in a cabinet so that other clerks could pull the copy and confirm the data entered into the system. Now, the invoice is automatically downloaded from Rossum and inserted into our accounting system without user interaction.
