Advanced user of Remote Desktop ServicesThe native MacOSX application works really well, I'm actually kind of ashamed of being an engineer and using VMware to open a Windows Virtual Machine and using the remote connection feature built into Windows for almost 2 years before knowing that I could use the native MacOSX app that works exactly the same as the Windows application, functionality-wise with the only minor difference of how command and control keys work in the host machine.
My only complaint is that it was kind of hard to find, not widely known unless you purposely look into it in the App Store or a coworker tells you(like it happened to me) since it is a Microsoft Application you don't have to worry to introduce an extra point of security vulnerabilities
You can natively connect from MacOSX without a virtual machine with the App that is available from the App Store.
We use a remote server to manage customer networks from behind a hardened central server per customer to increase the difficulty of a potential security breach.
