Quartzy is a great tool for lab management and coordination of purchases
What do you like best?
It is incredibly user friendly, with a very attractive interface. It is easy to see and update the status of ordered items, which means everything gets documented correctly and can be accessed for later reference to see whether something has been purchased, how much was purchased, etc. The timeline bar showing items requested/ordered/received is very intuitively formatted. Additionally, the ability to input purchases from essentially any vendor you could want is incredibly useful. Finally, it is easy to add new team members to allow them to make purchases.
What do you dislike?
In general there is very little I dislike about Quartzy. A few things which could be modified are that between "Inventory", "Received," and "Purchase History" there is a lot of redundancy, and without looking through documentation to figure out what each of these is supposed to include and exclude I often will look through several of them to find record of items we want to buy again. Sometimes I also have trouble searching for products that I have seen on supported vendors' websites in Quartzy, but in the end I have always found what I wanted.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I think it is worth it! Valuable tool for laboratories that need a solution for coordinating purchasing.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
My laboratory group uses it for coordinating purchases. The benefits are that it allows for a record of what has been purchased (to avoid duplicate purchases, or to allow for buying the same brand as in the past) and provides a simple, easy-to-use interface for ordering things.
