What do you like best?
One of the best feature in Pterodactyl must be that it keeps all applications in Dockers aka containers. It helps contain memory usage, CPU usage, and security. Let's say if an application has a memory leak, it will not keep consuming the computer's entire memory. The Pterodactyl docker is what keeps it contained, whatever amount of memory and storage you allocate to it. Containers are also easy to sterilize in case of an accident.
What do you dislike?
I do not like the dark mode theme on Pterodactyl. I wish they can make a light mode, so it's better to see in the day. Plus, some people have disability conditions that do not allow them to read white text over a dark background easily. I have requested them for a light theme, but they won't ship it in releases. They just tell you to modify the files and make our own theme.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
With Pterodactyl Panel, we can have peace of mind when it comes to running questionable applications or malicious code. We have our customers run many programs, java, python, ruby, in Pterodactyl Panel. We can be sure that our system will not get infected with viruses because these programs are isolated in docker containers. The benefits are that it's easy to destroy and create containers with just a few clicks. This has greatly saved us time because we don't have to factory reset the OS every time, which even takes longer. We also realized better security because we know some clients can accidentally run infected applications, but with Pterodactyl Panel, removal is as easy as destroying the container.
