Portainer is the definitive open source UI for simplifying Kubernetes, Docker, Swarm, and ACI container management.

Simplicity without compromise – run and manage your complex Kubernetes and Docker environments in a simple, low code/no code manner.

Get the best of both worlds – some developers support Kubernetes, while others prefer Docker Swarm or ACI for container orchestration. Portainer helps manage all these environments from a single product.

Let devs be devs – developers and DevOps don’t always blend. With Portainer’s easy low code/no code UI, DevOps can quickly deploy apps without having in-depth knowledge of Kubernetes or Docker Swarm.

Portainer makes container management stupidly simple

What do you like best?

Personally, I love that Portainer allows me to configure restart policies so easily. I always forget the syntax in my docker-compose or docker run commands. Portainer allows me to edit a container and simply switch to 'restart always'. I also love the fact that we can edit our containers and re-deploy, in a matter of seconds. Useful for those quick environment variable changes.

What do you dislike?

I'm finding it hard to come up with something that I dislike about Portainer, my partner, at The Self-Hosting Blog, James has mentioned that it's not so simple to hook up an AWS ECR repository as one of the registries.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Portainer not only makes Docker container management super easy, we (The Self-Hosting Blog) have seen incredible benefits with managing Kubernetes clusters. Gone are the days of CLI instance management. Portainer literally makes it a click of a button to scale up or down Kubernetes instances.
