PlanAdvisor Helps You Retain and Win Business

What do you like best?

This tool helps us win and retain clients. The training was thorough and it's fairly easy to use. The cost is fair. Employers with 100+ employees expect to see this type of info. When we present it, it helps build confidence in our expertise and experience. We are able to successfully negotiate with carriers to ensure a fair and accurate renewal for our clients.

What do you dislike?

No major dislikes. It's pretty user friendly once you get the hang of it. You need two years of data to have an accurate picture. It would be very cool if you could go back and add the initial renewal and final/negotiated renewal so that you could show the client how accurate the tool is. It would also be impactful if you could pull a report to show a client this info year-over-year so they could see how hard we are working to get them a fair renewal.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

It's a very useful tool and impactful for clients. Employers with 100+ employees expect to see this type of info. When we present it, it helps build confidence in our expertise and experience. Underwriters respect our arguments because we are speaking their language when we are negotiating with them. We continue to renew it year over year because we have not found anything else that we like better and the price is competitive.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Mid-year conversations with clients to prepare them for the upcoming renewal. We have also successfully used it in negotiations with carriers to leverage a more fair and accurate renewal for our clients. We feel like it's a little bit of a science and little bit of an art when using the tool. The tool projections have been on-point a majority of the time so it is trustworthy and clients are impressed when our mid-year projections have been so close to the carrier renewals. They are also confident that we can use this tool to negotiate on their behalf.
