Undoubtedly the most dependable Project Control Tool
What do you like best?
Following are some of the key features of Primavera that i like the most:
- the ability to easily automate most of the process,
- the flexibility of having both Cloud or on-premise deployment,
- effective cost control capabilities & earned value management analysis,
- easy to implement pluggins,
- simple visualization and easy to maintain and adjust plans,
- the ability to support multiple platforms,
- the ability to allows seamless collaboration across the project team in real time,
- the fact that it also provided facility management, maintenance management as well, the PM data can be seamlessly taken forward to operations,
- easy integration with ERP, CMMS, CRP and other enterprise solutions,
- easy to use and effective risk analysis tools.
What do you dislike?
Nothing much to dislike, but the following improvements are recommended:
- the user interface views could be more clean and clutterfree (cascaded philosophy) could be better implemented;
- can provide more flexibility with licensing options to provide user flexibility to subscribe as per the requirement;
- the BIM integration can be improved and made simpler to implement and update.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is undoubtedly the best Project Control and Collaboration suite available currently. The fact that it provides a one suite with all application is a big factor to consider this over multiple individual applications. Also for all Oracle ERP enterprises the integration is seamless. By applying a single suite you ensure that all of your modules are upgraded at regular intervals and the entire solution stays updated and relevant. Primavera as a planning tool has become a mandate for large capital projects and Unifier provides the best possible integration with it and the ability to easily play with data and reports.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
I am using Oracle Primavera to drive complete project management, planning, control, collaboration, reporting and dashboarding for the major capital projects. Primavera allows the entire suite of functionalities in one package which makes the information flow and exchange seamless and easy to control. Also since the information is now available in the correct fashion in real time it helps proactively identify the risks and issues and take more informed control decisions.
