What do you like best?

The integrations (bridges) available through metaintegrations.com to automatically harvest schema's.

What do you dislike?

The inflexibility of the tool, the technical nature of the tool which makes you get lost al the time, the unnecessary use of so-called configurations that makes you go up the curtains if you look for a model, the lack of transparency (e.g. in which configuration(s) is this model used?), the superfluous need to 'migrate' and 'build' your model once you uploaded metadata, the fact that you cannot export the mappings very easily, importing excel is a disaster, the issues with its own internal integrity that makes that some lineage just does not show, the lack of clear error messages, no workflow to promote or approve lineages.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Don't buy it, even if you get it for free with other Oracle tools. There are other, more flexible and business and user-friendly tools out there that will bring you further.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Adherence to BCBS239 - the part that we thought to solve with data lineage. So far we did not realise any benefits, even though there is appreciation for the existence of lineage, the choice for this tool will likely turn out to be a mistake.
