What do you like best?

Shared storage compatibility with all the os on network is just great, I've deployed this product to many small firms who are not looking into more hardware investment but have there concern about file and storage sharing. This OpeFiler box can be the all for them in 1.

What do you dislike?

Well all open source products have their up's and down but the thing I didn't agree to use it for the mid size company is the way it's shared storage work. Software SAN work and attach very easily but for some reason when the source gets down or reboot target storage not connect automatically sometimes, Also I've face the problem on increasing on storage when the size of a LUN increase more then 1 TB consumption it started to show IOPS error and destroy all the data.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

If you are looking to deploy a small size solution for the company who are looking for File sharing, Shared Storage or network backups to be on another devices OpenFiler could be the 1 box solution for them.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Sometimes customer ask for the solution but they don't want to bear a resource to manage it like Microsoft Administrator or Linux Administrator to manage their services all the time because no one is more familiar with the Security tools or Linux shell. So I see OpenFiler for the customer who can manage it over the web in few clicks and run their environment easily without acquiring any resource to manage it. Since I've deployed this to the customer I'm having far less Support tickets from customer regarding file sharing server request.
