What do you like best?

Octoprint gives me the ability to remotely monitor and control prints on my printers. The web interface is simple yet full featured and it can be made to work with all of my 3d printers. It also allows me to start prints when I am away so I can be more productive. Having a web cam lets me see if there are flaws so I can cancel a print before I waste too much material.

What do you dislike?

The only issues I have had with OctoPrint is if I cancel a print and try to restart it. Sometimes a restarted print will fail right away. I have found that you can not cancel during warm up. Instead, cancel right after and it negates the issue. Cura slicing has not worked properly for me built in OctoPrint. It would be nice if that integration was corrected so it was useful again. Having to have my printers profile on every one of my devices in order to slice is a bit annoying when it could be hosted in one place.

Make sure you set up your printer profile correctly and always monitor!

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I must sometimes walk away during prints that take over 24 hours. I like to have monitoring and the ability to pause or cancel if needed. This gives me the added safety of monitoring even when I can not be there. Being a web interface, I can do this from any of my devices anywhere I am. I am also able to adjust temperatures on the fly. This is a very helpful option if I see something abnormal.
