Excellent platform for building professional mobile apps!

What do you like best?

We used Nutshell to deliver enterprise-standard mobile applications at ten times the speed of our traditional native mobile development process. This was easy to do using a drag-and-drop interface, supported with dozens of useful components that make building mobile apps simple, quick and effective.

Given the intuitive nature of the platform, all our staff now have the capability to build mobile applications. This includes those without technical backgrounds and has empowered our workforce in ways that we never imagined. Our staff are delighted and have responded with very positive feedback.

What do you dislike?

Occasionally, it can be challenging knowing where to begin when creating a mobile application for the first time. It's important to have patience and understand that you will need to iterate your app as it is built.

Fortunately, Nutshell's drag-and-drop interface allows you to add an excellent range of components quickly and simply. It's then easy to make improvements and tweaks, optimising the app for end users. This is excellent way of ensuring that apps are user-friendly and meet their intended purpose.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

To achieve the maximum benefit from Nutshell, it's important to review the process that you want to create a mobile app for.

Nutshell has strong value in facilitating a move to paperless. However, it is excellent in enabling process optimisation. This is essential to any organisation looking to improve profitability, productivity and efficiency.

Given the affordable nature of the platform, I would recommend arranging a demo to witness the features available. We have plans to use Nutshell for dozens of apps in future. Nutshell is a tremendous tool that has helped us to grow our business significantly and delivered an excellent ROI.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We built 67 mobile applications for an enterprise-scale customer. These were to be used for safety-critical tasks, meaning that functionality, reliability and security were paramount.

Using a team of four with no prior experience of using Nutshell, we built all 67 apps within four weeks. These apps required a complex mix of functionality including an integrated approval workflow, photo capture, signatures, PDF generation and automated emails.

These apps were extremely well-received and are now being used nationally by hundreds of users. It has also generated major new opportunities for our business.

Using a traditional ‘native' approach would have taken us 18 - 24 months, along with incurring major opportunity and financial costs that would have made the project totally nonviable.
