Antiquated, bloated, slow, difficult and slow implementation, out of date.

What do you like best?

The only advantage Actimize has over other case management systems (especially in AML) is first to market. It simply has a reputation for being around the longest, and that translates to making it easy to find employees who are familiar with it. It is not difficult to learn, but it has been, in my experience, very cumbersome to use.

What do you dislike?

Implementation of Actimize in any organization has been painfully slow and is entirely your organization's responsibility. It is also slow for the end user, and very cumbersome to reach "usability". It can take over 6 months, possibly a year to get this system off the ground and running, with nothing uniquely advantageous about it. I have watched organizations hire and fire entire development teams who have struggled with coding and implementing Actimize due to its unnecessary complexity and it's inability to communicate with in-house systems without a monumental effort to bridge these gaps. On the front end, it is a mess. The font is too small, too many useless buttons and indicators which do not mean anything, and it takes too much time to move back and forth between pages. It is also very quirky when submitting a case, often having to select some strange drop-down twice, and if you don't follow the quirky instructions, the case gets lost in some strange queue, resulting in the user having to request their manager to kick it back to them.

From my past experience with managers, their billing is also ridiculous. The more staff end-users you have, the more they charge you to use their software, with minimal support on their end.

I would only use Actimize as a measure of last resort, and would take time to shop around for newer and lighter alternatives. It is completely overrated

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Actimize is a commercial off-the-shelf case management system that is most often used for AML/KYC monitoring and case processing. The advantage it offers is that you don't have to build a case management system from scratch, and that you already have something to start with. However, this software still needs to communicate with your in-house systems which are often times coded using a different language, and that initiative takes a lot of effort. I would not recommend Actimize because as a CRM it is slow, confusing, cumbersome and very messy and disorganized. You also need a development team that is experienced with Actimize + the coding languages in which your in-house systems were written in.
