Much more than an editor, neovim is flexible enough that you can extend it to be close to an IDE.

What do you like best?

The best feature of neovim is the modal editing, which enables it to be extremely efficient. A second close is it's flexibility, meaning you can extend it to be virtually anything you want. On top of that, there are tons of community plugins to suit all needs.

What do you dislike?

Debugging inside neovim can be a bit more painful than inside a fully-fledged IDE. However, if you are comfortable with CLI tools such as ipdb, it is not much of a hassle. Also, the learning curve is a bit steep, which can be a problem to some people, however I enjoy learning new things.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Try it and stick with it.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I use it for any editing task that I might have. It is hard to single out a single benefit, but if I had to summarize I would say that it is a pleasant tool to use and once you learn how to use it properly it feels extremely natural to use it.
