Easy to use, support if needed

What do you like best?

Keep Truckin is the easiest and most user friendly model we have used. We have tried 3 different ones and it is by far our choice and go to. It is very easy to set up and use. They send you the required plug in and someone is available to help over phone if you need help. We have never needed it just plug in to port and go. I always get great support help when needed, but honestly it is rarely needed unless your box goes out. nice thing about keep trucking is that you can still use app if it does. We have never needed to return to paper backup because the app works seemlessly even when they have to send out a new unit. If you do need a new unit, they ship it out right then and you get it in a few days. if you have a question about the back office side, they are very responsive also. If you don't like to talk to people they have tons of video and online help too. They have different levels of service and prices to fit all needs from basic to way more. I use the Ifta and fuel reporting one or mid tier. At the end of the quarter i just run a report and input what the totals that are given. It makes it easier for me to see what is being spent on our fuel side during the week also. Strangely it is easier to look up on Keep Truckin vs the fuel cards we use. you can input by trip also but honestly we do not use that yet. They have other products i don't use like cameras if you would like that. They also report safety issues, like speeding and hard braking and have the ability to share with you insurance if wanted. You can also use car or semi speeds on it which are important. It is very easy to send to DOT. It is so easy to send the files to them for DOT audit that i did it and couldn't believe it was that easy. When you are asked during inspection on the road they have a tab that locks it down into inspection mode so they can only look at the needed days and no more info. Also it monitors the codes thrown from your vehicle, just and added plus.

What do you dislike?

recently they went up on their prices. That doesn't really bother me and obviously i just roll the price down the chain and increase to my rates. The part that bothered me is that they did it without any corespondance just hit my bank for another charge on that month. I had to call to be told. As another business person i feel like the least they could have done was send me an email 30 days before such occurance. I feel that they just assumed i would be okay with it and took it upon themselves to take an extra $5-10 out of my banking account without my knowledge. It felt very underhanded. I am dilligent with funds and emails for the business. i don't know that someone else would have noticed but i did. It should have been my choice to continue service.

Now the rest, for whatever reason the mileage is not the same as my vehicle. it doesn't effect the total miles and i do not know that it is Keep Truckin"s fault. I do believe it is a problem with the onboard computer in the vehicle. We just put the begining and ending in the inspection report. Also not very often but it has happened before the break period is registered as complete and then we go to drive and it was a few seconds short and get a violation. now i have my drivers make sure to stay 32 mins per break. i watched this happen myself once. It has not happened since and the drivers reset everything and it didn't happen again also.

All in all i am very happy with Keep Truckin and i definately think they are the easiest and best on the market.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Go ahead and give them a try. We have used others and were not near as happy. They have support if needed, but honestly, I find my questions answered through the help menu and videos. There are occasions where I want an answer right now, and support is fantastic too. They are good about sending out notices when updates are needed. i have never regretted using their service or products. They have so much you can do and keep an eye on to make it worth the price. Reporting is super easy with their totals.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I solve the problem of needing an ELD, the back office reporting and Ifta and fuel reporting, appotioned reporting, works with other tracking apps that brokers use, keeps me knowing what drivers are doing with loads and where they are, fleet maintenance, and keeps me up to date on safety issues
