Advanced user of i-Tree EcoI love that is it free first of all. But it does more than just give information on trees, it can also be used to see how trees effect water quality which is a big part of what we do every day at UC Davis. It has a ton of features, which can seem a little overwhelming at first, but once you play around with the sight a bit it is actually incredibly helpful.
The website itself is not my favorite to navigate. I have to stare for quite a while to figure out where i need to go. However, once you do figure it out, it is easy from there. As i stated above the amount of information available to you right off the bat is a little confusing and not entirely user friendly.
Its all related to parks and planning. When trees need to be maintained, when the best time and area to plant new trees is. However, it could be used for an individual looking to plant trees on their own land. Data can be provided for your street in particular to see how trees are affecting the heating and cooling costs of you business, house, apartment, etc. Great for construction management, building maintenance and planning. Takes the hard work out of it, and provides insight that I individually would not have thought of.
