Incredible Software and an amazing team

What do you like best?

Unbelievably effective email MTA at scale. The support staff is top-notch. We have the system configured as a high volume inbound and outbound SMTP server, configured in a cluster of nodes that span multiple countries.

We use the service for anti-spam, anti-virus, and SMTP with user authentication against an API.

Upgrades have been seamless, stability has been world-class and their approach to engineering is beyond reproach.

We replaced 70 postfix servers with 7 Halon nodes and we could have probably done it with 4!

What do you dislike?

Message queues are located on the machine that accepts the email. If there are hardware issues or if we need to drain messages from a specific node it takes time and a lot more tweaking than we would prefer.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Conduct a POC and have the team do a test deploy in your environment. Compare it to your current MTA and give them a try.

We have met with the Halon team in person multiple times to discuss our use case and the changes that we would like to see in their tools and they have been extremely responsive and accomodating to our needs.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

High-speed email processing, a dramatic reduction in the number of servers needed to process email and reduced support costs because of their logging interface and search.
