A Good Tool for Cinemagraphs on the Go

What do you like best?

I love that it is designed for mobile phone usage, especially since you'll likely be recording the source footage from your device these days. I also love that they offer a special rate for nonprofits and this is something they have done since the beginning.

Their work to educate on what Cinemagraphs are and why are they are useful was amazing as well. That was how I initially learned about them and the flixel software. Nice hands-on approach.

What do you dislike?

I do wish it had a bit more capabilities for fine selection of paths and better stabilization. Unless you have very steady footage your Cinemagraph will not work out well. I have since tried other software and it's not much better, so I do suspect this will be something that will improve overall as the technology improves. Likewise, even with the discount for nonprofits, there are cheaper competitors that I feel I have to mention exist. I have tried a few and they are comparable.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

There may be cheaper alternatives but if you're new to Cinemagraphs why not try one of the first software providers. They also showcase a lot of user content on their social pages every week which is interesting to check out and great for ideas.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I am very certain Cinemagraphs are the way to go if you want eyes on your ads/content for longer and they've done a good job making them social media friendly in terms of file types and export capabilities. I'm always a fan of video or motion content that can be churned out fast, even immediately in some cases, so it's very timely for social posts. I also like that it's a quick learning curve, so I could pass the device to another staff member familiar with media capturing and they could figure it out quite quickly and step in when needed.
