Advanced user of EMC RecoverPointEMC RecoverPoint is an excellent Technology for Business Continuity, as a Financial Institution with have different regulations that require to have a BCP, BIA and Procedures to replicate the services that we offer.
I feel very comfortable with the Physical EMC Appliance, we have installed in Hight Availability as a Cluster in the Main Facility and DR Site.
As we have Physical RecoverPoint, they are just able to replicate data working as Splitter with EMC Arrays VNX 5300, VNX5400 and not others brand like Pure Storage or Huawei.
We know that we can managed to used RecoverPoint as Virtual VM and can replicate a single VMs instead of Luns.
Evaluate your needs correctly, there are options like Physical Appliances (RPA), EMC Storage Unity Series may be able to has as part of its software and Virtual RecoverPoint to replicate virtual machine.
The main solution is to replicate our data out our main facility. Secondly, we are able to use the Target replication as Testing and Pre-Production Environment since the RecoverPoint replication is based on Journalist.
