Good product but not perfect

What do you like best?

I really like that receipts can be easily sent via email or chrome river snap app. The OCR technology is nice. The approval process is super easy for managers via the email process. I had one exceptional experience with Casey J. in support. He spent some time with me and made videos for me to show me how to build reports I needed. The system has many options for set-up rules for routing. The logic is easy to work with and understand.

What do you dislike?

The start-up training should be longer. You implement and then move on within 2 weeks of going live to regular support. There were many things I encountered after going live that I didn't anticipate in testing because it isn't live data. Also this would give the project managers knowledge into what they did right and didn't do as they would have the feedback for future clients. Perhaps a transition team for new clients that lasts a few months would be compromise. If you want any hand holding after go live you likely won't get it and will be asked to create a case.

The help desk where a case is submitted, is a bit hit and miss. Other than the one person mentioned above the others in support haven't been super knowledgeable or if they were didn't communicate that well. Its frustrating because you have to submit a case then wait for a reply that doesn't usually answer the questions so you have to go back to set-up a zoom which takes another day or so. I wish I had a dedicated person to help me for a few months. This white glove service is often part of larger companies monthly charges. For small business there is a minimum charge of a couple thousand a month.

The OCR technology only works about 70% of the time. There is currently no way to send in incorrect OCR'd receipts to give the company feedback. I asked and was told to create a case. I'm not doing that every time there's an issue.

After working through the implementation it came to my attention that if you give anyone report access they have access to everyone's spending history even if outside their department. This is not a good control. I had to may a couple grand to have report security installed so my budget managers could run reports for just their direct reports.

The system doesn't show managers what direct reports have outstanding (unused) transactions or unsubmitted expense reports.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The users like the ease of sending in receipts and the user friendly look. Managers save time approving via email.
