Getting Insights from the Inside
What do you like best?
Dashbird is very easy to set up because it scrapes log data from AWS CloudWatch. This means it doesn't need any integration code attached to your Lambda functions to work. Just deploy a CloudFormation template, and all your functions are observed.
Dashbird's Well-Architected Lense helped me find problems at one glance, so I could apply AWS's Well-Architected Framework and see if I did everything correctly fast.
What do you dislike?
The UI is just okay-ish. It's certainly better than CloudWatch, but that's easy to achieve.
You find your way around pretty quickly, but sometimes things aren't straightforward to locate.
Dashbird is constantly improving and their last dashboard revamp made things better, so I think this will just be a matter of time and UX budget to get this straightened out.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Applying the Well-Architected Framework to my workloads. Also, quickly debugging Lambda functions.
