Crosschq is a hidden gem for hiring smarter

What do you like best?

It's very simple and straightforward to use, makes the whole process of gather references easy. It's data focused and makes it simple to compare candidates applying to the same job apples-to-apples. There are also feature to highlight potential areas of concern for different candidates (ethics, etc). This makes it not only easy to find candidates good candidates, but also to filter out candidates based on details that you wouldn't otherwise get from just a phone interview with a reference.

They're also very engaging with their users and genuinenly interested in how you use that platform and how you want to see the platform progress. They will take the time to ensure you're comfortable using that platform and how to interpret the results of their surveys.

What do you dislike?

The platform has a couple of UI/UX quirks that make navigating or filtering candidates a little more of a challenge than it needs to be. Nothing I would consider a deal killer, but the platform is missing a few things in that area that make it feel a little less mature. Outside of that

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Make sure you get a full rundown from the onboarding team on how to interpret the survey results. There's a lot of good information the surveys provide, don't just gloss over it.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It's helped us in making better hiring decisions -- we're not just relying on our initial impressions of a candidate from a couple of interviews, but instead on a data-driven approach to see how that person is to work with. We've been able to minimize turnover within all of our departments by finding candidates that fit our company culture around integrity, work ethic, and how well others have been able to work with them.
