What do you like best?

It has everything in one tool and easily lays out the exact steps needed for the E2E procurement process. It's easy for new people to learn since the tool lays out exactly the process and who the designated individuals are in the approval chain.

It also serves as a communication tool with external parties (ex. vendors, agencies, etc.) so it's easier to coordinate any potential back and forth.

What do you dislike?

The escalation process is very difficult. If a request is held up by a particular individual, it's hard to escalate or bypass that individual. Also, resubmitting with minor insignificant changes is also very difficult and requires the request to go through the entire approval chain, which can take days or weeks.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

The accounting/procurement process is not easy, but Coupa does a good job of simplifying the process into manageable steps. The process itself can still take a while, but that's usually dependent on the stakeholders involved and the pace of the organization. If everyone is aligned on the financials, then it's very quick and easy.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

1. Managing PO/invoice submissions, approvals, statuses, and payouts.

2. Liaising with our accounting and finance team so that we can manage expenses (actuals vs. planned) and track our budget on an ongoing basis
