Helpful Time Management Solution
What do you like best?
Clockify allows me to segment my time and tasks easily, then run reports that show me how I'm spending my time.
What do you dislike?
I've had some issues with the ability to run reports at times, but Clockify customer service/technical support is very responsive and helpful.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Time management and recording can get weedy. When I initially started using it, I focused on providing lots of detail about the tasks I was performing and the process of recording my time became burdensome. I realized that for my purposes, I didn't need a detailed record of what exactly I did; rather, I needed an accurate idea of what project I was working on. I've since simplified my task descriptions and that has helped me not feel like tracking my time was just another thing to do on top of everything else. For me, less is now more, but each user will need to decide what works best for them to achieve the outcome they need.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
It is important for me to know which projects I am spending my time on for purposes of billing various grant awards. Clockify allows me to set up different projects and assign the time I spent for each project as well as leave a brief description of the specific task I was performing. At the end of each quarter, the reports Clockify generates help me correctly allocate my time to various projects and budgets. Clockify also allows me to see where I might be spending too much (or too little) time and make adjustments in real-time.
