Cisco Webex Room Series Reviews

If money isn't an issue, Cisco Webex Room Series is pretty awesome

What do you like best?

I love how sleek and interactive your video chats are with Cisco Webex Room Series. It's so smart that it the camera can zoom in and focus on the person speaking in a room full of people. Conferences are easy to start, and participants can easily join if they're not in the actual room with you. Voice and audio is super clear as well. No need to have additional hand-held microphones or Bluetooth headsets to participate. I also love that I can have a conference in-person with a ton of people in the room, and other audience members in attendance from remote locations. I also like how I can hand off presentation controls to someone joining remotely. It's also integrated with Outlook, so I can send meeting requests and quickly add a Webex meeting. Makes life much simpler.

What do you dislike?

It is expensive, especially the hardware. If you decide to go another direction, you'll have video boards that you can repurpose, but is just overkill. And under our current circumstances with COVID-19, no one is going into the office, so we're really not using this technology. And the sad thing is that I don't miss it. I'm now using Microsoft Teams, and I haven't missed a beat. My point is that although Webex is really cool and offers great features, I can accomplish the same goals with my video conferences with a less impressive, somewhat inferior product. That isn't good.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

If you're going to have large, in-person meetings that you also want to broadcast, or include virtual participants, Cisco Webex Room Series is great. If you need something professional and impressive, this will do it for you. However, if you don't care and just need something to run virtual meetings, use something less expensive and run it from your laptop. To me, this is great for executives and other users that may not be as tech savvy. But it does make a great impression. Be prepared to spend money.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We created a professional environment for video conferences that's easy to use and participate. Other products require more intimate knowledge of do's and don'ts to maximize usability. Webex is really simple.
